Saint Bernard St. Bernard - Large - Adult - Male - Dog - Bear

Apart from the few weeks he spent in a home, 2 y.o. Bear has been a boarder at The Dog House Inn (Gilroy, CA) for the majority of his life. We would love to find a foster home for him, so he can experience new sights, sounds and smells. He deserves to know and enjoy the warmth, love and comfort of a home life. Bear is well-socialized with other dogs, but still takes a little time to warm to humans who are new to him. Bear is crate trained and loves routine and stability in his life. Bear needs to be in a home where patience and understanding abound, and having another friendly dog will be a great help to Bear in adjusting to life outside the Dog House Inn. Bear is on medication to keep him comfortable while we await finding a surgeon to perform a THR (Total Hip Replacement). Hopefully, donors will step up to help with the estimated $7,000 cost of the surgery and after-care. We have an ongoing fund specially allocated for Bear's medical needs.
